Birthday, plastic and putty

Just two things: it’s my birthday and I’m starting on a new model. The birthday part isn’t that exciting anymore—what can you do, I’m not 28 anymore. The good news is I’m back at it with a new mech that’s been bouncing around in my head for a while, and I’ve finally started, very slowly, gluing some plastic together.

My crazy creative process—completely lacking any plans, drawings, or sketches—is always painfully slow. But the slower it goes, the better the results and the fewer mistakes I make, because it gives me time to work the shapes out in my head more effectively and maybe—just maybe—avoid unnecessary or overly complicated work.

For now, after almost three weeks of fairly intense work, I’m barely just blocking out the shapes of part of the legs. Like I said—slow. Very slow.
